Think2030, the City of Subiaco’s community visioning project, is now closed. The consultation project attracted more than 1600 comments to gain insight into community aspirations and guide future planning for the city.

Over six weeks, Think2030 welcomed the thoughts of anyone who connects with the city and asked for feedback on the city’s progress across six focus areas that range from parks and open spaces to the built environment and council leadership.

City of Subiaco Mayor Heather Henderson said that she is delighted with the level of feedback provided by the community and is impressed by how engaged the Subiaco community is.

“The community is at the core of what we do in Subiaco and Think2030 plays a vital role in helping us determine community priorities and aspirations to help shape the future of our city,” Mayor Henderson said.

“We first launched Think2030 in 2011 to develop our Strategic Community Plan, a community-owned document that established a collective vision for the city. A lot has happened since then, so it is important for us to revitalise the plan so we can refocus and re-evaluate to ensure we deliver on the things that are important to the community.”

The city received comments from people that connect with the city including those that live, work, study or visit the area. More than 300 full surveys and quick poll postcards were received throughout the consultation period.

“We’re listening to you. All comments, feedback and suggestions, whether positive or negative will be taken into consideration during the review of the plan. I would like to thank everyone who participated in Think2030, the feedback you’ve provided goes a long way in and to shaping our community and working towards a collective vision.”

Data collected during Think2030 is currently being analysed by an external consultant to identify any emerging trends, objectives and ideas for the future. A report will be presented to council in early 2017, at which time, the updated draft Strategic Community Plan will be open for comment.
